More rain, thunderstorms in forecast for Okanagan

A storm rolls over the region Tuesday, May 26, causing intense lightning in the Kamloops area.

OKANAGAN - Above normal temperatures are back, but they come with a chance of rain and thunderstorms over the next few days.

After several days of off and on rain, and even a few thunderstorms, Environment Canada is still calling for a chance of rain through the end of the week. There is a chance of showers with a risk of a thunderstorm today and Thursday along with a chance of showers on Friday.

Temperatures are expected to be above seasonal normals for the next week, with the forecast calling for temperatures to reach as high as 30 Celsius in Kamloops Thursday and 29 C in the Okanagan on the weekend.

A chance of rain and thunderstorms are also in the forecast for Cache Creek, where a major storm caused flash flooding this past weekend. The village is currently under a state of local emergency as the entire town attempts to clean up the debris and damage that was left behind.
