The City of Kelowna's throwing open bids for four new food truck locations as the it looks to give a boost to economic recovery.
In a news release issued today, Feb. 9, the City says food truck operators can bid on a preferred location from now until Tuesday, Feb. 23.
"Mobile food vendors such as food trucks are becoming increasingly popular and we’re hoping to see a variety of applicants this year as we provide this new opportunity for economic recovery and animating our public spaces,” manager of property management JoAnne Adamson says in the release.
The City says five food truck locations are now open to be bid upon: City Park, plus the four new locations of Knox Mountain Park, Okanagan Rail Trail, Ben Lee Park and Rotary Beach.
One spot is available at each location for a one-year license, except for City Park which has one two-year license available. The permitted time frame is May through September each year.
