E´cole Dr. Knox Middle School and Kelowna Secondary School have had new exposures to COVID-19, school officials announced Sunday.
At both schools, the people— who are not identified as staff, teachers or students—are self-isolating at home with support from local public health teams.
With the KSS exposure, the health authority confirmed these cases are related to social interactions outside of the school environment and they are not related to any previously identified cases from Kelowna Secondary School, reads the press release.
"The safety and well-being of students, families, and staff remains our highest priority. Central Okanagan Public Schools will continue to implement the strict health and safety protocols and procedures that are in place so students and staff can continue to attend school as safely as possible," reads a press release.
Interior Health follows up with anyone potentially exposed to a confirmed case directly through contact tracing.
Virus exposures have also happened at Okanagan Mission Secondary in Kelowna, St. Joseph Elementary School and École de l’Anse-au-sable.
The outbreak at École de L’Anse-au-sable was declared over last week.
