Mobile home heavily damaged by fire in Kelowna

Kelowna firefighters were called to a fire in a mobile home in the 4300 block of Jaud Rd. in Southeast Kelowna at 4:30 a.m. today, Sept. 7

“First arriving crew reported heavy flames and black smoke coming from the home,” says a news release from Kelowna fire department.

As soon as they could, firefighters entered the home looking for any occupants. They later learned the owner was not at home at the time of the blaze.

Crews continued to work on the fire to make sure it was completely out. The mobile home sustained heavy damage.

The cause is not yet known and investigators are looking into it.

Four fire engines, a bush truck, a command unit and a safety unit were sent to the fire along with 22 fire personal.
