STILLWATER, Minn. - The Latest on leadership changes at the Stillwater state prison (all times local):

Fresh off the firing of the warden at the Stillwater state prison, the Department of Corrections has named a successor.
The Star Tribune reports http://strib.mn/2eBZl3o ) that Eddie Miles, a veteran Minnesota prison employee, will take over as warden effective Nov. 2.
Miles began his career with the department in 1992 as a corrections officer at the Lino Lakes prison. He went on to work as an investigator, program director and associate warden at Stillwater. He's since served as warden at the Lino Lakes, St. Cloud and most recently the Faribault prisons.
Miles replaces Steven Hammer, who was fired this week for violating multiple departmental policies, including those related to sexual harassment and discrimination, email use and personal code of conduct. The Department has not released details on the nature of Hammer's rule violations.

Minnesota's Department of Corrections has fired the top official at one of the state's largest prisons for allegedly breaking several policies.
Officials in September had suspended Stillwater prison warden Steve Hammer, pending an investigation. The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports (http://strib.mn/2dt3v1A ) that Hammer was fired Wednesday for allegedly violating at least five department policies including the employee code of conduct, policies surrounding emails, and those related to anti-discrimination and sexual harassment.
Department spokeswoman Sarah Fitzgerald declined to comment further.
Department records show that Hammer had been disciplined twice before for inappropriate relationships with staff.
Hammer previously worked as warden of the Rush City prison. He took over at Minnesota Correctional Facility-Stillwater in March 2015.
A telephone listing for Hammer in Stillwater couldn't be found. He can appeal his termination.
