KELOWNA - Parts of the Mission Creek Greenway will be closed off and on until the end of March as the city conducts pruning and vegetation maintenance.

The Regional District of Central Okanagan is asking the public to obey signs, barricades and flag people and to stay out of any closed areas.

There'll be temporary closures of the trail upstream from the Casorso Road Bridge while the trail running along the north side of Mission Creek between Gordon Drive and Lakeshore Road will be closed completely while crews and equipment are active.

The Ministry of Forests have been contracted to do the work. They'll be pruning, and removing hazardous trees and brush to improve the Regional District's ability to visually monitor the dike during periods of high flows in Mission Creek.

Areas of the Greenway that aren't part of the maintenance schedule will remain open.

For more information on the trail closures contact the Regional Parks office at 250-469-6232.
