Missing West Kelowna man found dead in the woods

WEST KELOWNA - A man reported missing from West Kelowna on July 15 has been found dead, RCMP say.

Kelowna RCMP began searching yesterday, July 17, after members of the unidentified man’s family called police, media relations officer Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey said in a press release.

A search of the 52-year-old man’s home revealed his ATV was missing so RCMP air services and the Central Okanagan Search and Rescue team were called in.

A search of the woods beside the man’s home ended with the discovery of his body around 10 p.m., police said.

The death is not suspicious, police said, and they will now support the B.C. Coroners Service in their investigation.
