Someone found a large quantity of cash on the street in Vernon and turned it into the RCMP detachment.

Now police are looking for the rightful owner.

The cash was found near a business in the 4400 block of 25 Avenue this morning, May 24, according to an RCMP media release. RCMP don't identify the business.

If you think the money is yours, give the Vernon RCMP a call at 250-545-7171 and reference file number 2024-8015.

RCMP say in order to claim the money, you must be prepared to describe the amount and denominations of the bills.
