SALMON ARM - The search for a missing senior ended tragically yesterday after the Salmon Arm woman was found deceased.
Mildred Ekren, 76, was last seen near her home by Fifth Street and 10th Avenue in Salmon Arm before she went missing around around noon yesterday, Dec. 7. There was an increased concern for her well-being as she had dementia.
Staff Sgt. Scott West with the Salmon Arm RCMP says a security guard found the woman’s body near the Salmon Arm pier. He would not comment or speculate on the cause of death.
West says the investigation into Ekren’s death was turned over to the B.C. Coroners Service.
