KAMLOOPS - Mayor Peter Milobar was bested by Prince George's mayor Lyn Hall in their Movember moustache-growing contest and fundraising challenge.

The friendly challenge issued early in November pitted Kamloops versus Prince George in a fundraising competition, states a City of Kamloops media release.

Kamloops raised more than $4,200 and Prince George raised more than $5,700.

As punishment, Milobar must wear a Prince George Cougars jersey during the puck drop at the Blazers' versus Cougars tilt in Kamloops on Feb. 19, the release says.

The competition netted more than $9,900 for the Movember Foundation, and organization that raises funds and awareness for men's health.

“Congratulations to Mayor Hall and the City of Prince George,”  Milobar says in the release. “I’m proud of the money and awareness we generated for men’s health and am looking forward to shaving.”
