KAMLOOPS - A Kamloops man has won $1 million playing Lotto 6/49.

David Pitts won the $1 million guaranteed prize on the Oct. 7 Lotto 6/49 draw, according to a media release.

Pitts bought his winning ticket at the Dallas Park Store in Kamloops.

“I was at the store checking my ticket,” Pitts says in the release. “When the screen flashed $1 million, people in the store started to hug me and one woman even asked to kiss me.”

Pitts is taking some time to plan for the future.

“I’m going to put some money aside for retirement and travelling,” Pitts says. “I’m then taking my time to think about what I need and want."
