KAMLOOPS – Think you have to choose between the house, the once-in-a-lifetime trip and a fully-stocked wine cellar?

Not with this Sun Rivers house.

The sale of 3014 Visao Ct. comes complete with a trip to Italy and a cellar stocked full of wine. It's part of Upcountry Developments’ formal launch and director of design Allan Askew says his company is selling an experience, and it’s this experience that makes his company unique.

“You can say that but if you give away a trip, people go ‘wow that’s pretty cool.’ We try to capture that feeling; that’s what we’re doing,” Askew says, calling the $50,000 trip, “an amazing, over-the-top experience.”

The Italian adventure begins in the heart of Tuscany in Florence. The new homeowners will stay four days at a hotel perched atop a terraced hill, complete with views of the city below, and then will spend four days in Rome in the heart of the old city. The trip ends on the Amalfi coast, in a converted 11th century palace in Revello.

Back at home, the company is promising the 1000-bottle wine cellar will be fully stocked to include any new favourties found by the homeowners while in Italy.

“People who care about and understand a trip like this are our customers,” Askew says.

The house itself is 4,300-square-foot and the asking price is just under $1 million. The company’s 'signature home' boasts 15-foot ceilings, a private courtyard with outdoor dining room and a rooftop deck with a hot tub and views of the city.

“The house lends itself to a mature couple who love to entertain… in a sophisticated house,” Askew says.
