Tickets for Memorial Cup in Kamloops go on sale this week

Tickets for the CHL championship next year in Kamloops go on sale this week.

The Memorial Cup will be hosted at Sandman Centre from May 26 to June 4, 2023, and ticket sales will launch Thursday, Dec. 1, according to a CHL news release issued today, Nov. 28.

“Our goal is to give all the teams the opportunity to play before a packed arena each night. We want you to feel the excitement throughout the stands and streets of Kamloops," Kamloops Blazers president Norm Daley said in the release. "Whether you are a local, or from anywhere in our great country, get your tickets quickly to join us in the excitement.”

Fans can pick up full tournament packages for $600 before taxes, which includes at least eight games.

Tickets purchased before Dec. 15 will include a commemorative souvenir ticket package, according to the news release.

“As our host committee gets down to work, exciting details are coming together making this event come to life,” organizing committee chair Yves Lacasse said in the release. "‘Shine Together – Together We Shine’ is a great representation of what we are striving to achieve both inside the arena and out.”

The last time Kamloops hosted the Memorial Cup was in 1995.

The first puck drop of the CHL tournament will be on May 26 when the Kamloops Blazers cake on the QMJHL champions.

The Blazers currently sit in fifth place in the WHL's western conference and 11th overall with 11 wins and 26 points.

The team has been named Memorial Cup champions three times, including first place finishes in 1992, 1993 and 1995.
