Judge's husband says other lawyers knew of nude-photo controversy

WINNIPEG - The husband of a Manitoba judge being investigated for nude photos says the matter was "quite well-known" before she was appointed a judge.

Jack King told an inquiry today that other family law lawyers asked him questions in 2003 and 2004 about what had happened to him and his wife, Lori Douglas.

King says many of his fellow family law lawyers knew of the details.

The inquiry has already heard how King had uploaded sexually explicit photos of his wife to the Internet and asked another man to have sex with her, but did so without her knowledge.

King has already pleaded guilty to professional misconduct and been fined.

The inquiry by the Canadian Judicial Council is examining whether Douglas was involved in the harassment, and whether she disclosed the matter when she was appointed a judge in 2005.
