Some of the most active companies traded Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (TSX:CNQ). Oil and gas. Up 56 cents, or 1.22 per cent, to $46.46 on 9.1 million shares.

Baytex Energy Corp. (TSX:BTE). Oil and gas. Down 11 cents, or 1.81 per cent, to $5.97 on 7.1 million shares.

Enbridge Inc. (TSX:ENB). Oil and gas. Up 77 cents, or 1.86 per cent, to $42.25 on 6.7 million shares.

Athabasca Oil Corp. (TSX:ATH). Oil and gas. Down five cents, or 2.62 per cent, to $1.86 on 6.6 million shares.

Cenovus Energy Inc. (TSX:CVE). Oil and gas. Down four cents, or 0.28 per cent, to $14.07 on 5.9 million shares.

Neovasc Inc. (TSX:NVC). Medical devices. Up half-a-cent, or 8.33 per cent, to 6.5 cents on 4.9 million shares.

Canadian Tire Corp. Ltd. (TSX:CTC.A). Retailer. Down $9.50, or 5.42 per cent, to $165.87 on 624,925 shares. The Toronto-based retailer announced that it acquired Norwegian outdoor clothing and gear maker Helly Hansen from the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan for $985 million.
