Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (14,755.62, up 106.85 points):

Teck Resources Ltd. (TSX:TCK.B). Miner. Up 54 cents, or 2.58 per cent, to $21.47 on 11-million shares.

WesternOne Inc. (TSX:WEQ). Engineering and construction. Unchanged at eight cents on 10.1-million shares.

B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Up 12 cents, or 2.74 per cent, to $4.50 on 9.7-million shares.

RMP Energy Inc. (TSX:RMP). Oil and gas. Down three cents, or 2.86 per cent, to $1.02 on 7.8-million shares.

Baytex Energy Corp. (TSX:BTE). Oil and gas. Up 45 cents, or 7.28 per cent, to $6.63 on 7.2-million shares.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Miner. Up 45 cents, or 3.92 per cent, to $11.92 on 5.4-million shares.

Whistler Blackcomb Holdings Inc. (TSX:WB). Travel and leisure. Up $11.49, or 45.70 per cent, to $36.63 on 3.2-million shares. The friendly takeover of Whistler Blackcomb Holdings by an American mountain resort operator is all about long-term stability, says the head of the popular British Columbia ski destination. Whistler Blackcomb's David Brownlie said Monday the deal with Colorado-based Vail Resorts, totalling nearly C$1.4 billion, will give the ski resort access to both the money and the markets it needs to grow its status as one of the world's leading, year-round ski havens.
