Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (14,226.78, up 89.79 points):

Rubicon Minerals Corp. (TSX:RMX). Miner. Up 1.5 cents, or 33.33 per cent, to six cents on 13.8 million shares.

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Up 76 cents, or 13.36 per cent, to $6.45 on 12.5 million shares.

Yamana Gold Inc. (TSX:YRI). Miner. Up 65 cents, or 11.71 per cent, to $6.20 on 12.3 million shares.

B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Up 27 cents, or 11.39 per cent, to $2.64 on 8.5 million shares.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Miner. Up 55 cents, or 6.40 per cent, to $9.15 on 7.6 million shares.

Eldorado Gold Corp. (TSX:ELD). Miner. Up 46 cents, or 8.20 per cent, to $6.07 on 7.6 million shares.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. (TSX:VRX). Pharmaceuticals. Down $1.13, or 2.93 per cent, to $37.42 on 833,565 shares. Valeant has defaulted on some of its debt because it has yet to file its first-quarter report. The embattled drug company said Friday it now has 60 days to file the report with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Canadian Securities Regulators for the quarter that ended March 31, though it plans to release its first-quarter results on Tuesday.
