KAMLOOPS - The prime minister's mom is coming to to town to talk mental health.

Margaret Trudeau, mother of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and ex-wife of former prime minister Pierre Trudeau, will be in Kamloops April 13 to discuss mental health. A breakfast event will be held at Thompson Rivers University as a fundraiser for the mental health unit at Royal Inland Hospital. The event will include breakfast and feature Trudeau as the keynote speaker.

Trudeau has written books about mental health and spoken to media often about her own struggles with mental illnesses.

A press release for the event says the funds raised will go towards renovations and new equipment for the hospital.

The event is being co-hosted by the Rotary Club of Kamloops and Royal Inland Hospital Foundation. Tickets are available online for $50.
