Man with gunshot wound dropped off at Revelstoke's hospital

A gunshot victim was dropped off at a the hospital in Revelstoke this morning.

Revelstoke RCMP have launched an investigation after receiving a report about an adult man entering Queen Victoria Hospital with a gunshot wound around 6 a.m. today, March 14, according to an RCMP press release. 

The injured man, who is well known to police, sustained non-life-threatening injuries, RCMP said.

Police aren't sure of the circumstances surrounding the shooting, but are investigating.

Mounties have identified a possible crime scene, but it hasn’t been confirmed.

“The investigation is in its early stages, however, is believed to be an isolated incident, with no threat to the public at this time,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. James Grandy said in the release.
