A vehicle that lost control in Lake Country went flipping into an orchard and police were unable to locate the driver upon arrival.

The crash happened late in the evening on Dec. 1, according to a media release from Central Okanagan Search and Rescue.

A man was driving northbound on Glenmore Road when the accident happened. He was able to get himself out of the vehicle, but was nowhere to be found by the time the Lake Country Fire Department and RCMP arrived on scene.

An immediate search ensued but the driver could still not be found. Crews were worried the man may have suffered a serious injury and the search and rescue team called upon.

They arrived with 11 members including the dog team. Teams began searching the nearby orchards and fields.

The man’s tracks were sniffed out by the dog team, which eventually led rescuers to the man’s home where he was located.
