Man who drowned in West Kelowna identified

KELOWNA – The B.C. Coroner’s Service has identified the man who drowned in Okanagan Lake earlier this week.

Donald Brian Jules, 40, jumped into the lake from a wharf near Gellatly Road just before 8 p.m. on March 2. A media release from the Coroner says shortly after he was “noted to be in medical distress.”

He was pulled from the lake and taken to Kelowna General Hospital but could not be resuscitated.

The RCMP and B.C. Coroner’s Service continue to investigate.
