KAMLOOPS - A 31-year-old man has been treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries after being stabbed in downtown Kamloops early this morning.
Kamloops RCMP say officers responded to a report of a stabbing around 5:30 a.m. today, July 10.
Police attended the 100 block of Columbia Street and determined it was a possible crime scene, according to an RCMP media release.
"The investigation is currently ongoing and believed to be an isolated incident," Sgt. Thomas Dimopoulos says in the release.
Police haven't said if the victim and suspect are known to each other or what led up to the alleged stabbing. A description of the suspect has not been released.
RCMP believe there is no current risk to the public but are asking anyone who can identify the suspect or has information on the stabbing to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
