Man sharpening a knife on the bus arrested in Kamloops

FILE PHOTO

KAMLOOPS - It may seem like common sense, but it’s not a good idea to sharpen a knife while on public transit.

A 54-year-old man was arrested on a bus at 7:20 p.m., April 17, by Kamloops RCMP after doing just that. The incident started when he pulled out a four-inch knife and started sharpening it on the bus, making other passengers uncomfortable, police say in a release this morning.

When the bus driver told him to get off the bus, he threatened the driver.

The driver then pulled the bus over on Lansdowne and police got on, arresting the man without trouble. He was already known to police.

The man is now in custody and will face charges in court related to the incident later today.
