KAMLOOPS - Police are hunting for a male suspect who stole a car after spraying two people in the eyes with pepper spray at the Esso Gas station on Halston Road.

Mounties were called to the gas station about 5 a.m. and were told the lone suspect had approached a man at the pumps and pepper sprayed him causing the victim to run inside the store. The suspect followed the victim who was hiding behind the counter, and demanded the keys to his vehicle. Unsuccessful, the suspect left the store and attempted the same thing with a second male at the gas pumps.

The second man was able to run from the suspect who gave up and went back to the store entrance. A third man was exiting and was confronted by the suspect. This victim threw his keys to the suspect on demand.

The suspect fled in the victim's black, 2003 Dodge Ram 150 pickup truck, B.C. licence plate CG1029.

The suspect is described as 6'2", with dark hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a black hoodie and a black backpack. He also had a blue bandana covering his face.

Anyone with information can call Kamloops rural RCMP at 250-314-1800 or remain anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers.
