UPDATE: Man killed in roll over near Paul Lake identified

Police are investigating a fatal collision near Paul Lake Wednesday night.

KAMLOOPS - One man is dead and four others injured after a vehicle lost control on Pinantan Pritchard Road near Paul Lake Wednesday evening.

The B.C. Coroners Service has identified the man who died as Barry Wilson Charlie Jr., 27, from Lytton.

Staff Sgt. Lane Jumaga says a preliminary investigation shows the westbound mini-van rolled after the driver lost control in a set of curves three kilometres northeast of the turn off to Paul Lake, just after 6 p.m.

Charlie, who was the passenger in the vehicle, was not wearing a seatbelt. He was pronounced dead at the scene and the four other occupants, including the 45-year-old driver, were taken to Royal Inland Hospital for treatment.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash and investigation into the cause continues.

Charlie's family has been notified of his death. The B.C. Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate.
