Skier dies at Sun Peaks Resort near Kamloops

A skier died at Sun Peaks Resort today after an accident on the mountain.

Ski patrollers were called to tend to the injured man today, March 21. 

He later died of his injuries, according to the statement from Sun Peaks near Kamloops.

It's not clear where on the mountain the man was injured.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of life of our guest and our thoughts are with their family and friends," the statement read.

Sun Peaks spokesperson Christina Anotniak wouldn't provide any details about the incident when reached by iNFOnews.ca.

"Out of privacy and respect, we will not be releasing any further information," the emailed statement reads.

Sun Peaks said it's cooperating with the ongoing RCMP and BC Coroners Service investigations.
