SALMON ARM - A man who told a bank teller "there would be trouble" if she didn’t hand over cash has been arrested and is custody awaiting a court date.
Derek Rocco, 31, has been charged with robbery and disguising ones face for the intent to commit an indictable offence. The Vancouver Island man was arrested March 24, one day after the robbery occurred, RCMP say in a media release.
RCMP say a Bank of Montreal was robbed around 2:30 p.m., March 23. A man approached the teller and gave her note saying there would be trouble if she didn’t quickly hand over money.
An undisclosed amount of money was handed over and the man fled the area. Cops searched the area and when they did not find the man, they released surveillance images in hopes of identifying the suspect.
