KAMLOOPS – Early this morning a man got more than he ordered when he was caught drinking and driving at a local fast food drive-thru.
A McDonald's employee spotted a beer in a console of a vehicle that was in the drive-thru around 1 a.m. today, June 26.
A nearby police officer responded, according to an RCMP release. The officer watched the man pull out of the drive through while using a cell phone.
The driver, a 29-year-old man from Chase, told police he was a prohibited driver who had just went to court over the charges.
He was given a violation ticket for open liquor in a vehicle and for using an electronic device. Police also gave the man an appearance notice to go to court in August for driving while prohibited.
The vehicle he was driving did not belong to him and was impounded for seven days.
