A man was apprehended this morning in the Lumby area.

The man was arrested this morning and taken to the hospital under the Mental Health Act, said a spokesperson for the B.C. RCMP, who declined to provide her name, saying she couldn't officially comment on the matter.

Area residents reported a heavy police presence at roughly 11 a.m., April 10, in the area of Bobbie Burns Road off of Trinity Valley Road, north of the community.

The scene has been cleared but Lumby RCMP officers are investigating, she said.

The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP could not be immediately reached for comment.
