KAMLOOPS - A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged after allegedly exposing himself to people at a Barnhartvale property.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says police were called to the area on Tuesday, Sept. 12, around 10:30 a.m.

But the actual incident happened very early in the morning, Shelkie says. She said police are recommending charges of committing an indecent act in a public place, trespassing at night and breach of probation order.

The details of the alleged offences have not been made public.

According to court documents, 29-year-old Christopher Mathieu was charged this week with committing an indecent act in a public place, trespassing at night, criminal harassment, and breach of probation order.

Shelkie did not confirm the identity of the man who was arrested.

About two years ago, Mathieu was charged with exposing himself in front of Marion Schilling Elementary School in Valleyview, however those charges were later stayed after he pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography.

Mathieu is expected to appear in court later this month for a bail hearing.
