Man arrested for committing indecent acts near the Okanagan Rail Trail

A 32-year-old Lake Country man has been arrested after Vernon RCMP were called on Sunday, Aug. 16 about a man behaving erratically near the three kilometre mark of the Okanagan Rail trail along Kalamalka Lake.

Witnesses were concerned about his inappropriate behavior at around 2 p.m. when many families with young children were using the trail.

“Our officers located the man in the bushes and confirmed the observations of the witness,” Cpl. Tania Finn, media relations officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, said in a news release. “The man was found committing an indecent act and was arrested.”

The man is facing charges of committing indecent acts and was released. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
