Man arrested after kicking, punching paramedics in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — An intoxicated man who was transported by ambulance from the North Shore to Royal Inland Hospital for medical treatment is now in police custody after kicking and punching multiple paramedics.

Kamloops RCMP say they received a report of an intoxicated 54-year-old male assaulting three B.C. Ambulance paramedics yesterday, April 24 at 7:23 p.m., according to a media release.

Police say the man became angry with the paramedics and assaulted them. The male was restrained by hospital security until multiple police units arrived.

The male has since been released from the hospital and is now in police custody.
