Man allegedly pulls knife on grocery store employee

KAMLOOPS - Police were called when a Cooper's Foods store employee came up against a man allegedly wielding a knife.

The incident happened Friday at about 9 a.m. at the Cooper's Foods located at 450 Lansdowne Street. The Loss Prevention Officer told police he tried to capture the man who was allegedly attempting to shoplift, but stopped when the suspect pulled a knife and threatened him.

Though the man escaped the scene witnesses helped officers find him several blocks away and he was arrested without incident.

The man is in custody and faces potential charges of robbery and assault with a weapon.
