PENTICTON - Lakeshore Drive between Main Street and Martin Street in downtown Penticton should reopen later this afternoon following a water main break this morning.
The city reported this afternoon, Oct. 19, repairs to the water main are complete and the road should be ready to reopen around 4 p.m. Traffic had been detoured away from the area and transit was rerouted as the city made repairs.
The water main break was located on Lakeshore Drive between Martin Street and Main Street.
The break caused the intersection at Martin Street and Lakeshore Drive to sink significantly.
A fire hose was temporarily installed to provide water service to the Lakeside Resort and other properties.
