KELOWNA - You may know him from America’s Got Talent, MTV’s Greatest Party Stories Ever, Wizard Wars or Full Frontal Magic. His name is Wes Barker and he's a Canadian comedian and magician with over 159,000 subscribers on YouTube.

He's coming to the Kelowna Curling Club on Friday, Sept. 20 and tickets just went on sale, according to an event posting on the Train Wreck Comedy website.

Barker used to work on a road crew filling potholes but when he was offered a promotion he decided to change his life path. He quit on the spot to become what he calls a "stunt magician."

He has since gone on to perform in front of audiences around the world, and make several TV appearances.

In 2015, Barker famously managed to win on Penn & Teller: Fool Us on the CW by fooling legendary magicians Penn and Teller.

Barker began his trick by asking the host of the show to pick a page of a phone book at random and remember the page number. Barker then rips a phone book in half from top to bottom. He asks the host to throw the ripped pages into the air and stabs one with a sword. The page he stabs is the page the host picked at the beginning. Neither Penn or Teller could figure out how he did it.

Barker was voted Variety Performer of the Year in 2017 and 2019 and was awarded Comedian of the Year in 2018 by The University and Colleges.

All of his performances feature comedy, crazy stunts and lots of crowd interaction.
