LUMBY - A suspected post office box thief arrested, cash stolen from the Co-op and a stolen 15,000-litre diesel fuel tank are just some of the crimes officers with the Lumby RCMP detachment are working on.
On January 11, 2015, Lumby members arrested a woman suspected of breaking into and stealing contents from post office boxes. Theft of mail charges were laid against Barbara Netzlaw from Abbotsford, according to North Okanagan RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk. She made her first court appearance Jan. 29, 2015.
Police are still looking for suspects after cash was stolen from the Monashee Co-op. Molendyk says those with information on this case or potential suspects are requested to contact the Lumby RCMP detachment.
Officers recovered a 15,000-litre diesel tank in Cherryville but they can't find the owner. Molendyk says the tank is of considerable value. If you are the owner, contact the Lumby RCMP detachment at 250-547-2151.
He says Lumby RCMP responded to 85 complaint calls between Dec. 28 and Jan. 28 with Christmas and New Year's being "comparitively quiet."
