Calgary's Justin Snith and Tristan Walker finish fourth in World Cup luge race

WHISTLER, B.C. - Calgary's Justin Snith and Tristan Walker took fourth place at the World Cup luge event at Whistler, B.C., finishing 0.027 seconds off the podium.

Tobias Wendl and Tobias Artl took gold with a two-run total of 1 minute, 13.087 seconds for their second straight World Cup win. The German duo, who won gold in the World Cup doubles event in Whistler last year, also finished first in last weekend's race in Winterberg, Germany.

Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken, also of Germany, placed second in 1:13.171, while Austrian duo Peter Penz and Georg Fischler were third in 1:13.351. Snith and Walker came in at 1:13.378.

The Canadian duo finished fifth last weekend in Winterberg, Germany.

The men's singles race went later Friday.

The women's singles and team relay events go Saturday.
