BOGOTA - A deep but powerful earthquake shook western Colombia and Ecuador on Saturday, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the 9:16 a.m. (14:16 GMT) quake had a magnitude of 7.0.It was centred about 7 miles (11 kilometres) from the town of Pasto and 77 miles (129 kilometres) below the surface.
The quake was felt widely across Colombia and neighbouring Ecuador, but local officials did not report damages or injuries.
