Lots to enjoy in the South Okanagan this weekend

PENTICTON - Hoodoo Adventure Company and Evolution Athletics presents the Okanagan Valley Throwdown this weekend at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

It’s the fourth year for the cross-fit style competition that involves athletes competing across different team and divisions in two days of competition.

Food vendors and fitness companies will also be represented at the event, which takes place Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 28 and 29, from 9 a.m. until noon. Cost is $ 8 per day for spectators, $30 day pass for a family of four.

The Claim Jumper Rail Jam takes place at Apex Mountain Resort, Sunday, Jan. 29, from noon until 3 p.m. This year’s event is presented by the Pentagon Boardshop and features a new set up in the park this year. Entrants can sign up in Claim Jumper at the bus, cost is $10.

Join the Penticton Lakeside Resort for A Night with Elvis in a Penticton Air Cadet fundraiser featuring Elvis impersonator Adam Fitzgerald. Tickets are $35 with burgers and a beverage. Raffle draws are happening during the event, which takes place Sunday, Jan. 29 from 5 to 11 p.m. Tickets are available at the Penticton Lakeside Resort or call Dave Stein at 250-499-2634.
