Kamloops residents might need to dig out the sunscreen on Saturday with the spring-like weekend forecast. The Okanagan won’t be far behind with the forecast calling for mostly sunny conditions with temperatures up to six degrees above normal.
Environment Canada is calling for sunny skies and a high of 8 Celsius in Kamloops, and 9 C in Kelowna, Vernon and Penticton today, March, 11.
A warming trend is expected Friday with a high of 11 C forecast for Kamloops, Vernon and Kelowna, and 12 C for Penticton, along with plenty of sunshine.
Saturday should see a sun and cloud mix throughout the Thompson-Okanagan with a high of 16 C predicted for Kamloops and a high of 12 C for Vernon, Kelowna and Penticton.
Kamloops’s daily high and low average for mid-March is 10 C and -1 C.
Vernon, Kelowna and Penticton normally see a high of 8 C and a low of -2 C.
Kamloops should round out the weekend weather with a sun and cloud mix and a high of 13 C on Sunday.
The Okanagan could see a 30 per cent chance of showers Sunday, under a mix of sun and cloud, along with a high of 9 C.
Overnight lows for Kamloops and the Okanagan are expected to range between -3 C and 0 C tonight through Sunday night.
