PENTICTON - It’s definitely beach weather this week in Kamloops as the city should see some of the hottest temperatures of the summer over the next few days. Although a weather system moving into the region later in the week looks like it will arrive in time to produce a cool and cloudy weekend.

Environment Canada says to expect sunny skies and a high of 34 Celsius today, Aug. 6, followed by clear conditions overnight and a low of 16 C.

More sunshine is in the forecast tomorrow with a high of 35 C and a low of 18 C expected.

Thursday and Friday are looking much the same, with sunny skies and a high of 35 C on Thursday and more sun and a high of 33 C for Friday, with overnight lows of 18 C and 19 C respectively.

Clouds are expected to move into the region on Friday night, with cloudy skies predominating on Saturday.

There is a 60 per cent chance of showers overnight Saturday, as well as into Sunday and Sunday night, with a high of 26 C expected Saturday and 24 C on Sunday.

Monday is expected to be a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 26 C.

Kamloops's normal high and low for this time of year is 29 C and 14 C.
