KAMLOOPS — This cat was surrendered to the Kamloops SPCA because she was acting too aggressively towards the children in her previous home.

Adara is looking for a house without children that would better fit her personality, a media release says.

She can be a very affectionate cat and demand lots of attention and pets, but she has boundaries that a new person will need take time to learn.

Adara can be anxious with new people and environments and may hide initially. If Adara becomes scared or doesn't like something she will let you know with a twitch of the tail and a growl. It's best to respect her space when she asks you to and once she's feeling better she'll seek out your love.

She will happily curl up on your lap for long petting sessions and can be very loving.

Adara is a young cat and has lots of energy so providing plenty of enrichment and things for her to do will be important in helping keep her happy and calm.

She can be quite chatty and will meow loudly at you for attention when she wants it. Adara needs a cat-savvy guardian in an adult-only home without other animals.

In the right home, with time to adjust, Adara could certainly be a loving companion.

She is used to being an indoor-only cat.

For more information about Adara contact the staff at the Kamloops SPCA. Her animal ID number is 479832.

Visit the shelter's webpage for more information such as location, adoption fees and hours of operation.
