Looking for forever home; Kamloops SPCA pet of the week

KAMLOOPS — This cat came into the care of the Kamloops SPCA as a stray matted and underweight.

After a haircut and with some love and food Pickles is getting back to a healthy weight, a media release says.

Pickles can be loving and affectionate but does seem to have her limits when it comes to petting sessions. She may let you know if she doesn't like something with a little smack of her paw. The shelter environment has been stressful on Pickles and it's possible in a home this behaviour may subside a bit.

She's looking for a cat savvy guardian to share her love with and who will respect her boundaries. Pickles doesn't seem to like other cats and would most likely do best as the only animal in the home.

She's got a diva personality that wants all the attention and will meow at you when it's time for pets.

Because Pickles may be sensitive about how she's handled it's also recommended she go to a home without children.

The shelter says she will be a loving companion in a nice, quiet adult home where she can reign as queen. Once her coat grows back Pickles will need to be regularly brushed to help keep it tangle-free and being kept inside will help with this.

For more information about Pickles contact the staff at the Kamloops SPCA. Her animal ID number is 477575.

Visit the shelter's webpage for more information such as location, adoption fees and hours of operation.
