Looking for forever home; Kamloops SPCA pet of the week

KAMLOOPS — This cat was surrendered to the Kamloops SPCA when her owner could no longer care for her.

Naveah weighed over 18 lbs when she came to the shelter, a media release says. She was very overweight and suffering from Pancreatitis.

Nevaeh received treatment for the pancreatitis but needs to lose her excess weight to hopefully prevent her from suffering from this ailment again and other health issues in the future.

She is a very loving, and sweet cat who is a joy to have sprawl on your lap.

She can also be somewhat playful and enjoys rolling in her catnip and getting gentle belly scratches.

Nevaeh is on a special canned food diet plan to help her weight loss, and hopefully as she loses weight she will be able to do more playing and running around.

She is looking for a new home that will work diligently on a diet and exercise plan.

With all her extra curves Nevaeh can find it a bit hard to groom herself so may need a hand in that department. Getting to a healthy weight will hopefully prevent future vet costs but an adopter should be prepared for the possibility of pancreatitis and the treatment required in the future.

Nevaeh would probably be happiest in a home without young children or other animals.

For more information about Naveah contact the staff at the Kamloops SPCA. Her animal ID number is 476418.

Visit the shelter's webpage for more information such as location, adoption fees and hours of operation.
