KAMLOOPS - This dog was surrendered to the Kamloops SPCA because his previous home didn't have enough time for him.

Barry is a very sweet Pitbull Terrier cross Labrador, a media release says. Barry is about two years old and a very active and social dog that will require a guardian that can provide lots of exercise and outings.

He gets easily over excited at times and has the tendency to want to jump up. Good obedience and a confident guardian is important as Barry is still learning.

He had a problems with cats and chickens in his last home.

Barry has lived peacefully with children between the ages three to seven years old.

He can be selective about his doggie friends so slow introductions are important but he could possibly live with another dog.

Barry will definitely require an experienced owner as he is a powerful dog.

The shelter strongly recommends formal obedience classes, this would not only help the bonding process with his new adopter but will also set Barry up for success in his new home.

He is a very friendly and social dog, and loves his people.

Barry has separation anxiety when left alone. He will need to get used to spending time alone slowly a few minutes at a time, but would love an owner who has lots of time to spend with him.

For more information about Barry contact the staff at the Kamloops SPCA. His animal ID number is 473001.

Visit the shelter's webpage for more information such as location, adoption fees and hours of operation.
