KAMLOOPS - Flo-Rida and her siblings had been left outside the SPCA Kelowna shelter doors.

Lyndsay Stewart, animal care attendant at SPCA Kamloops, says Flo-Rida was transferred to Kamloops as the Kelowna location had "so many rabbits." Her brother, Alabama, came along with her and was adopted shortly after.

Flo-Rida is six months old and already spayed. Stewart describes her as a little nervous and shy, and needs to get used to being handled more. She may get along with another rabbit if the introduction is slow and done properly.

Stewart reminds potential rabbit owners to do research before adopting an animal. Rabbits require special care and a diet of hay, pellets and vegetables. They should have lots of exercise and room to stretch their legs.

For more information about Flo-Rida contact the staff at the Kamloops SPCA.

Visit the shelter's webpage for more information such as location, adoption fees and hours of operation.
