KAMLOOPS - How this sweet guy ended up outside as a stray is a mystery. He enjoys attention, and will come out to visit when you enter his kennel.
He would be a great companion throughout the winter months and would likely enjoy curling up in front of the fireplace, or on your lap.
Sox does have special needs. He was brought into the shelter with many fighting wounds, although he appears to be more of a lover than a fighter. These fight wounds from many years out in the wild, unfortunately meant he contracted Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).
With the proper care and attention, a good diet, and regular preventive veterinary care, Sox should live a normal healthy life. His life expectancy is not expected to be decreased because of this virus.
FIV will cause Sox's immune system to be decreased, and thus he should always be an indoor cat to limit any chance of infection from other viruses and colds. An adopter should be willing to do regular veterinary examinations to ensure he remains as healthy as possible, and has all the help and care to fight off any infection he might get.
Sox's Animal ID is 420982.
Visit the Kamloops Branch webpage for more information such as location, adoption fees, and hours of operation.
