KELOWNA - The unsettled cooler weather of the past week will continue through the long weekend in the Okanagan.

“A trough over the province has brought cooler air to much of the province, below seasonal temperatures with weather systems impacting the province every one to three days,” Environment Canada meteorologist Lisa Ervine says.

The Okanagan can expect a high of 21 Celsius today, Aug. 30, with a chance of showers in Vernon and Kelowna, and a mix of sun and cloud in Penticton.

The forecast calls for a mostly sunny day in the Okanagan tomorrow with a high of around 23 C, followed by a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 22 C on Saturday.

Sunday will see another weather system pass through the valley bringing with it a 40 per cent chance of rain and a high of 22 C. On Labour Day Monday, expect sunshine and a high of about 20 C.

A high pressure system is forecast to bring following the Labour Day, with a return to sunny skies and temperatures in the low- to mid-20s.
