Logging truck gets stuck under Kamloops overpass

A logging got stuck under the railway overpass at 1 Avenue and Landsdowne Street in Kamloops, Monday, Jan. 28, 2019.

KAMLOOPS - The driver of a fully-loaded logging truck has wedged their rig under a railway overpass in Kamloops.

Emergency crews were called just before 3 p.m. today, Jan. 28, to the CP Rail overpass at 1 Avenue and Landsdowne Street across from City Hall.

Kamloops Bylaw and Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement were on the scene and traffic was disrupted in the area.

Workers pulled logs from the stuck truck and cut them up with chainsaws to go into a wood chipper.

Calls to the City and Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement were not immediately returned.
