RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in Logan Lake today putting a local school on a hold and secure.
Officers from the Logan Lake and Merritt detachments, as well as members of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team worked in conjunction to execute warrant today, Oct. 18, according to an RCMP media release. However, it's not clear what they were searching for or what the warrant pertains to. RCMP will only say it was in relation to an ongoing investigation.
“At this time, investigators aren’t able to provide details of the investigation for which the search was a part of,” Cpl. James Grandy, spokesperson for the BC RCMP, said in te release. “However, we can reassure the community they’re not at risk.”
As part of the search, a nearby school was placed on a hold and secure state. Typically, this means that all exterior doors are closed and locked as a safety precaution.
This was done “out of an abundance of caution”, Grandy said.
